Merry Hallogiving!

WOW! It seems like it was just Halloween...and here it is December!

For Halloween the kids were all vampires....Kaili was a goth vampire princess, Dallin was a gangster vampire, and Cambri was a dead soccer player vampire. It must have been because of the "Twilight" craze!

For Thanksgiving our little family ate at Del Taco...yes Del Taco! We went on vacation to California. We visited the Wild Animal Park, Sea World, & the San Diego Zoo. "I'm 50% sure!" (Melman from Madagascar) We spent a day at the beach. While we were there Cambri starts yelling "A fin, I saw a shark in the water!" I said "No, your just teasing us!" She yelled "Yah, I did, right there!" About that time 2 dolphins jumped out of the water, not 15 feet from the shore. It was pretty amazing. It was a fin....just not a sharks fin. When we went to Sea World the second day Cambri rode the shipwreck rapids ride 5 times in a row. She was drenched, and that night when we left the park she was still wet. No wonder she was walking funny the entire day! :)

We are now gearing up for Christmas. Kaili wants a straightener and a 3 barrel curling iron. Dallin wants a ripstick. And Cambri wants a Nintendo DS. Chris keeps changing his mind...soccer essentials, boxing gear, volleyball stuff. So I guess he'll just get what he gets. I was thinking of going a totally different route....camping! (tee-hee We'll see!) I don't really care what comes my way...I'm thinking a day OFF would do the trick! :}

So for those of you that are interested...
MC Dance Academy is performing at the Festival of Trees this Saturday @ 11:50am. Then we have our Merry Christ"Moose" Merriment show @ the Studio on Saturday the 13th from 9-1 with Santa coming at noon. There will be craft boutiques there and if you are interested in doing a table they are $25, just call or email me so I can put you on the list!

Well I think that's just about everything! We hope that you have a very
Happy Holiday Season!

Soccer has been crazy! Dallin has practices on Mon & Wed and games on Fri & Sat. Cambri has practices on Mon and games on Sat. They both are having a "Ball". Cambri's team wins almost every game...then again they have played together for 3 years now. And Dallin's team is just beginning to mesh. Last week was their best game and it ended with a tie 1 to 1. Hooray!
The kids are also gearing up for their Halloween performances with the dance studio. We will be the mid day entertainment at the Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point in 2 weeks! And then in another week performing at Fright Night in Kamas. :} Call me if you want info on attending! :0
The Studio will be having it's Mish Mash Halloween Dance on Saturday the 25th from 6:30 to 9 It is $5 a person or $15 a family. Come dressed up and ready for some spooky fun! (BOO!)
That's about it for updates...if we don't see you before Halloween then,
WE hope you have a SpoOky good time! :}

Holy Cow!

So WOW! We have all been sick, I mean really sick this weekend.
Chris woke up with a cough, Marie is do dizzy she feels like she is trapped on a merry-go-round, Kaili had a little congestion, Dallin & Cambri have the croup.
Thanks to Kaili we have all been eating...I think she likes cooking! :} Which is a good think considering Mom can barely stand. We've had our day full of Football, as we've all slipped in and out of consciousness at one point or another.
Marie's Mom & Dad are headed to Boston and will be gone for 18 days.
Chris' Dad & Jennie and her family are headed to Disney Land. After a rough start with vehicle problems I think they are finally on their way.
So while our parents are out having fun, we are Quarantined! At least we weren't supposed to be going on any trips right now. :}

ps if any one you still want a kitten we have 2 left. One light gray with stripes and one with 3 different colored stripes. They are so cute...I wish I could keep them...Chris said NO! :(

School has begun...& Cambri's getting Baptized!

Wow! Has time flown by or what. I can't believe it's already almost September. School has started and so has dance, soccer, piano, scouts, and activity days...whew!
Chris spends M and W nights at Hunter Junior High for soccer practice. Their first game is next week. They travel this year so he will be here and there until snow covers the ground.
Marie gets up at 5:25 each morning for Drill Team, leaves the school around 9. Heads home to get all of those last minute daily things done and then picks the kids up at 3:15 to head to SL for dance. She rolls into bed around 10:30 and wakes up to do the whole thing again the next day. She just finished Breaking Dawn for the 2nd time. (when she reads aloud, she doesn't internalize everything, so she had to read it again for herself) Yah..yah..she's a little bit nuts!
Kaili has started Middle School. She is learning to play the clarinet and just started back up with all her dancing. She is on 2 competition clogging teams, a competition jazz team, a competition cheer team, takes tumbling, and technique, squeezes in a solo, starts piano lessons, oh and did I mention keeps up with her homework at school...one of these days she's going to snap. When I asked her what she'd like to drop, it seems the list only gets bigger. She unstoppable! :}
Dallin is loving the 4th grade. He does soccer M and W with his dad, scouts, hip hop, & tumbling. He would much rather stay at home and watch the wildlife in action. Did I mention there is a bear warning just on the mountain side above where we live. Dallin, and his dad have gone to look for it many times...I know stupid, I keep telling Dallin he only has to out run his crazy father.
Cambri just turned 8! She is going to be baptized on September 6th at 9:00am at the church on the main road between Kamas & Oakley. (It's the only one.) You are all invited to come and if you'd like to bring anything...just do a salad or a dessert. :} She is very excited. Her kittens are growing so fast and are just about ready to find loving homes. (I tried to take pictures to put on the blog, but they are lost in the computer somewhere.) Soccer and dance have started for Cambri. I have to chuckle because every year she tells me that she's not going to do dance and then somehow every year she still does it. (you all know I am smiling inside!!)

Well Hello Hello, I have emerged from the Book. Well ok ok I started the book "Breaking Dawn" and read straight through Saturday...into the night and finished it about 4:30 in the morning. I think I would have been done faster if I had not been reading out loud to Kaili, Kyrsten (neice), CarrieSue (sister) and Susan (my mom). They one by one feel asleep on me and I lost the last one about 3am so hooray then I didn't have to read out loud anymore and I breezed through the rest. I loved it. Kaili and Kyrsten woke up Sunday morning and finished it together. :}

Chris was very patient. He went up the mountain looking for bears. Then he went with his dad, Doug, & Dallin on a hike. He made me break away from the book for an hour while we went to dinner (yep, you heard right he took me to dinner...I didn't even have to find something to cook) and then he kept the kids in the other room and watched a movie. He was grr8!

Kaili was right with me every step of the way...until her eyelids couldn't take it anymore. She was just as excited as I was and would go online every day to see what the phrase of the day was. As I read she was so cute and promptly told us all when one of the lines had been covered. We had a super time.

Dallin was just glad that his dad was around and even more excited that he was able to go with him.

Cambri spent the night at Matt & Amy's (her uncle & aunt) and came home late in the afternoon. She didn't want to be a part of the book reading so she played with the kittens and watch "The Avatar". She thinks she Saka...which of course is a boy!

Well, k, so if you've had the chance to read "Breaking Dawn" I'd love to chat...and if not I don't want to ruin it for you. Call me when your finished! Hopefully I'll pick up...between soccer, swimming, Drill team, & Dance. See you all soon! *Marie

Let's Take a Walk...

Down memory Lane. I hope you will play along. Here are the directions:

1. Add a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses.

Sizzlin' Summer

I can not believe that Summer is almost over. These last 2 months have flown by!
Chris helped some neighbors move into their home and now has a herniated disk in his back. He is walking like a little china man. They have him going to physical therapy to see if it will help and if not then they will do surgery. He has some pretty powerful drugs and they make him a bit loopy at times.
Marie has almost all of her range of motion back in her knee. She still has trouble when there is weight or pressure on it, but everyone, including her are very pleased with how fast the recovery time has been. She is doing summer clinics at the Studio so that has helped with recovery as well.
Kaili can not wait for school to start. She says she is bored out of her mind. And since dance is not in session, she has read the entire Twilight Series AGAIN along with Marie and can not wait until the next book comes out in a couple of days. (which of course has been pre-ordered tee-hee)
Dallin has made a couple of new friends and spends most of his time at the canal with them. They have tried to catch fish, tried to catch some birds, and Mom can only imagine what ever else. At least he hasn't brought home any snakes!
Cambri is in seventh heaven her cat Jade just had 5 kittens. She is every so careful to take care of them morning and night. It is quite the event to watch her. Who knew Breezy McFadden had a softer side. (giggles) She has loved it up here this week. It is Kamas Fiesta Days and there has been rodeo after rodeo.
Tomorrow the kids are going to be in the Children's Parade. They can either dress up like mountain men or decorate their bikes and ride behind the float. They are all excited! Hopefully there will not be any road rash incidents! Keep your fingers crossed! :}

It's us in the summer!

Hiya,
So I have survived knee surgery, made it through Drill Team Camp, and I know it's 2 in the morning, but hey I am updating my blog!! I am not hobbling around anymore! Hooray! Hopefully just a few more weeks of physical therapy, otherwise known as Pain & Torture, and I'll be good as new.
Chris has started soccer practice for the new Competition Team he is coaching and loving the rides he takes up the mountain in his new Ranger. Did he get a big gift for Father's Day or what?
Kaili has had a little break from dance now that summer is here. She had her 1st piano recital and played everything from memory. I was impressed. She was asked to join the pre-comp swim team at the SSAFC (rec center) and really seems to like it. She also just came back from a week long trip with her BFF Cassie. The girl can shop...I do not have any idea where she gets that from! tee-hee
Dallin has started up with soccer and had a blast picking out new gear. He even purchased goalie gloves, which of course Cambri said she wanted also. He was also asked to be on the pre-comp Swim Team, which made Kaili a little mad because he jumped 2 levels, and missed getting a 1st place in his first meet doing the breast stroke by less than a second. Needless to say I was going crazy cheering for him in the stands.
Cambri has been going to Dallin's soccer practices...she wants to be just like him. She is in Level 4 in swimming and I think was secretly wishing that they would ask her to jump levels too. But they didn't so she is kind of sad having to sit in the stands and cheer...she would rather be swimming with her brother and sister. She has become quite the little driver with the 4 wheelers and I think Evil Kanevil has been reincarnated in her. scary!
Well that's about it...We haven't moved...I have a new nephew Jeramey Michael Mellen (Matt & Amy's)...and I need to register my car this month. But enough of that, I hope you had a super 4th and an even better 24th! *Marie

Fun in the SUN!!

Whew!
Today was actually a relaxing one...well if you consider cleaning and laundry and more cleaning relaxing. So I say it's relaxing because I was able to breath! The Dance Studio Year end Recital is over. Clogging is done for the summer, Soccer is a few weeks away. I guess what I am trying to say is that I did not have to rush off to anything for the kids...it feels so strange!!
I have been putting off my injured knee until after the recital. I went in for a MRI this morning and meet with Doctors on Thursday to see what course of action I need to take. Cross your fingers for me that I will not need crutches.
Chris found a new car...a ford Focus. He also is looking for a Ranger for his Father's Day present. He is attending Soccer Clinics to get brushed up on the latest to be the best Competition Soccer Coach EVER.
Kaili is gearing up for her 1st Piano Recital. She doesn't quite know what to do with herself, same as her mom, without having to rush off to the Dance Studio every day. She has read all of the Twilight Series and now is starting them again. At least the TV doesn't occupy all of her time these days!
Dallin has been playing the days away with the dogs, his friends, the dirt, and his trips to the skate park. He loves his bike, his skateboard, his scooter, and asks every day to ride the 4-wheelers. Boys...
Cambri hum...where to begin with her...she does everything that Dallin does. She also kicks the soccer ball around the yard and into the net even though the net is broken. She is extremely happy that dance is over. I wonder why??
Thank you to ALL of you that came and watched our "Passport to Dance". I can't wait for next season to start. Enjoy your summer and I'll see you at the clinics! *Marie and the Curtis'

Once in a Leap Year Update!

What a crazy day! Between the cats howling all night and the early mornings, this day started out a little on the wacky side.
Chris wakes at 5:25am and gets ready to head down the mountain. He is still working at Fidelity and is in the process of studying for some upcoming tests.
Marie just finished the Drill Team "Winter Showcase".
She doesn't have as much time on her hands to updates blogs like this as much as she would like, and through the incesint encouraging from her sister-in-laws she thought she should get on the ball. tee-hee She is still dancing the days away at the High School, Kamas Rec Center, and her studio.
Kaili is working hard at maintaining her straight A streak. She is dancing, reading, dancing, playing the piano, and dancing some more. She just finished her first competition with clogging and is getting ready for the 1st one with MCDA.
Dallin is getting extremely good with the Xbox and Wii. He is becoming an avid reader and likes to create things in the snow. ie igloos, forts, ice castles, snow board ramps, etc. He is now a bear in cubscouts and really likes doing things with his good friend Zeb.
Cambri is counting down the days for soccer to begin. She is trying to talk mom out of the dance arrangement and is not winning. She just made the adoption of her cat official and her dad is still not happy about it. She however loves Jade, her new furry pet.
We had a fabulous Christmas, an incredible New Year, a sweet Valentines day and are gearing up for Easter. We hope you ALL have a very "HoPpY EasTeR!"
